The factors
that contribute to the positive outcome of a language
course are many, yet they belong to one of two kinds:
technical and human.
To find the most successful combination of both these factors has been and continues
to be our objective.
To do this, we try to tend carefully to a few key issues: |
| |
|
| Our
team |
|
 |
Our team is
formed of very motivated and enthusiastic people.
All of the teachers are graduates and specifically
qualified to teach Italian. Above all, they love to
share the process of learning the Italian language
with the students. |
| |
|
| The
reduced size of groups (max. 6 students) |
|
 |
The positive
effects of a small group - which is one of the distinctive
features of our program - are many:
- more time at your disposal to speak in class
- a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere in which
you can do your best
- the chance to get more satisfying results in a
shorter time
- more personal attention from the teacher
|
| |
|
| The
teaching programme |
|
 |
Our program,
based generally on five different levels of student ability,
is tailored to the group's characteristics at the start
of each week.
The levels are mostly differentiated by the depth
to which the topics are tackled.
This enables you to rapidly learn a big part of the
expressive structures of the language independently
of your level. |
| |
|
| The
teaching method |
|
 |
Our teaching
method considers everyday situations - fragments from
real life - as the starting point for learning the Italian
language and culture.
Above all, this method brings out, in class,
the active skills of the language (speaking and writing),
which are normally more difficult to acquire without the
guidance of a teacher. |
| |
| The
teaching material |
|
 |
The teaching
material used in class, in our Online Courses, in the Area
Studio and in our Girasole Magazine is
created and elaborated by our team.
Study units are developed from authentic sources,
or created by our team, so as to always enable the
study of the language within a real context. |
| |
|
|
| Other
characteristics of our program: |
|
| |
|
| Cultural
seminars |
|
 |
Every week we offer a cultural
seminar on art, music, cinema, history, literature or another
local or national theme, to enable you to learn and experience
new aspects of our culture. |
| |
|
| City
visits |
|
 |
With city visits, our aim
is to give you the chance to experience Siena with us,
and to discover its charm and secrets. |
| |
|
| Excursions |
|
 |
Every week we offer an excursion
to a location of artistic, historical or natural interest
off the usual tourist itinerary, to taste wine in a vineyard,
to see how cheese and olive oil are made, to visit Etruscan
or Roman archaeological sites, or simply to talk with the
local people. |
| |
|
| Cooking
evenings |
|
 |
In these evenings we prepare
together a complete meal of typical regional and national
dishes using seasonal products. Of course afterwards
... everyone at the table! |
